Owl Sheffield taught the barnyard animals about several holidays. “It’s time for Farmer Joe to bring in the harvest from the fields,” Hostina Cow said. “It’s been really nice to learn  about Thanksgiving because it’s a time for feasting and spending time with the barnyard family.”

The animals were excited and eager to celebrate. The excitement changed when the turkeys learned that they might be dinner. Thanksgiving was quickly approaching.
“Oh my no!” cried Lucky Turkey. “Thanksgiving dinner seems scary. I’m too young and beautiful to be the main course. What’s all of the hype about turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner?”

“Maybe we could skip Thanksgiving and do Christmas instead,” Tom Turkey said. “I don’t want to be roasted and stuffed with goodies. Celebrations should be fun for everyone.”
“What will we do?” Kiki Turkey asked. “Perhaps we might hide out in the barn or retreat to the scary forest. Maybe we should pack up and fly South.”

“Let’s be serious,” Tom Turkey responded. “We are barnyard turkeys and we don’t migrate.”
“You are all my friends and I will figure out something,” Monkey replied. “Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and spend precious time with friends and family. You all are my barnyard family, and I would not have it any other way.”

How did Monkey save the gobblers from the Thanksgiving feast? Did they celebrate with a party?
